So I bought an Acer with 8th-gen Core i5 2.3GHz, GTX 1050 4GB, 8GB RAM, and 1TB HDD.
Despite the mixed reviews I read online, I must admit that this is a good laptop. The only thing that I found bad is the thermal design. The CPU is seriously throttling in games and sometimes in normal tasks.
I have come to two advices that I found online. One is to re-apply thermal paste and maybe can see -10 celcius temperature down and two is to undervolt the CPU voltage.
So far, I have tweaked the High performance power profile a little and reduce the CPU management to about 80-90% instead of 100%.
The laptop doesn't heat up as much as before but I sacrifice alot of gameplay smoothness and FPS whatnot.
Any idea what I should do next?
