Hi guys,
as GST is dropping tomorrow I am planning to buy a notebook in Low Yat this weekend.
I use the notebook for coding & general office work so I want to connect it to 2 x 4K monitors so I can run a clean desk with 2 wall mounted monitors, external keyboard & mouse the the notebook lid closed all the time.
The monitors of course need to display different things at the same time - 1 screen for my coding and the other for monitoring email & dashboards.
Has anyone bought a notebook that can run 2 x 4K at once and does it work well enough to recommend it?
I am not gaming so I don't need blazing speeds but notebook will have to have reasonable graphics capabilities to run that many pixels.
I am hoping to spend around RM5k or so on the notebook, but willing to spend more if necessary.
I THINK I need a notebook with 2 x Thunderbolt 3 ports.....?
I have been reading about 2 lane & 4 lane versions of Thunderbolt 3 and it seems both ports should be 4 lane? Or the 1 x 4 lane thunderbolt connector can drive 2 monitors (through a splitter presumably)?
Both my existing 4K monitors have HDMI and DisplayPort connectors.
So, hoping for someone that has tried this already and has a recommendation.
Thanks!
