2666 MHz RAM vs 2400 MHz RAM, Any benefit?

I see ASUS using 2666 MHz RAM across their Coffee Lake gaming lineup, while other brands like MSI use 2400 MHz RAM. Is there a tangible benefit to using the slightly faster RAM? If not, won't it just increase the cost for nothing?
