Hi all, I am looking for a laptop. After few days of research, my options are down to these two :
1. Asus K46CB
Specs :
CPU : 3337U(I5) (1,8 Ghz up to 2,7 Ghz)
RAM : DDR3 1600 2G
Storage : 750GB 5400R SATA
LCD Size : 14.0 HD SLIM (GL, LED)
VGA : NVIDIA Geforce GT 740M
2. Asus A45VD
Specs :
CPU : 3230M(I5) (2,6 Ghz up to 3,2 Ghz)
RAM : DDR3 1600 2G
Storage : 750GB 5400R SATA
LCD Size : 14.0HD (GL,LED)
VGA : NVIDIA®GeForce® 610M
I am going to use my laptop for software like Matlab, Java, Altera Quartus and occasionally games, maybe Crysis 3? If that's too heavy for this kind of laptop then it's alright, not my biggest concern. I use Digital Audio Workstation such as Reaper, Nuendo, sometimes as well.
Considering the two CPUs are from different class (ULV) and the normal processor, is there any significant speed difference in real time usage? Which laptop has better heat dissipation? As my old laptop gets hot way too easily it has to shut down itself sometimes.
One last consideration is battery life, I'm okay with battery that can last around 3-5 hours.
So, can anyone enlighten me?
